According to some news that roam around the net, there’s a new Motorola cellphone being produced: its name is ZN300, and it would come to replace the ZN200. There’s not much more information on the matter, except some images of the new graphic interface and the cellphone itself.

The cellphone is rumored to have a display with 240×320 pixel resolution, 3 megapixel photocamera and the Opera Mini web browser pre-installed. The launch is supposed to be made during the next Mobile World Congress in Barcellona, which will take place in February.

Motorola seems to be walking further and further from Windows Mobile. The American mobile company has officially confirmed the lay-offs of 77 employees that worked on the development of devices that used Microsoft’s Mobile Operational System.

From March 27th on, the Windows Mobile division from Motorola will no longer exist, at least not directly: some rumors say that the development of devices that use Windows Mobile could be redirected to Taiwan or China, and Motorola would only be responsible by branding the mobile devices.

Motorola was fast in anticipating the next holiday of the year, Valentine’s Day, by launching a special version of their PEBL model called Motorola Rose Bloom.

The new PEBL model is slightly slimmer and taller than the previous PEBL versions. It’s still a clamshell, however, and it includes a touch-sensitive panel on the upper part that gives access to some basic functions. There’s also the 2 megapixel photocamera, mp3 player, bluetooth and HSDPA connectivity.

The downside for this model is that it is, for now, an exclusive in Korea.

The Motorola i425 is a very particular cellphone, that has an interesting design. It’s very slim, wide less than a centimeter, and weighing 110 grams, and it also has advanced features such as the wi-fi connection, Instant Messenging (AOL, Yahoo and MSN messenger), speakers, integrated GPS and the walkie-talkie functionality. Weirdly enough, does not feature a bluetooth connection. Its packaging recalls the ecologic theme as it’s made with recycled materials.

    Pros:

    - Integrated GPS

    Cons:

    - No bluetooth.

The Motorola ROKR E8 is considered a “Music phone” whose main characteristic feature is a touch-sensitive keyboard with a big central key called “Omega Wheel”. It’s a quadband GSM with a touchscreen display that views 262.000 colors and with a resolution of 320×240 pixels. It also features a 2 megapixel photocamera, bluetooth technology, FM radio and a 2GB memory which is actually expandable. The battery guarantees 300 hours in standby and 5 hours in conversation.

Motorola has commercialized in the United States, through Verizon, the Motorola Z6c World Edition. This model is an alternative from the Z6 Rizr model, and presents basically almost all the same features as its base model, with the difference that it works on both GSM and CDMA networks, justifying the name “World Edition”. Other features to be mentioned are the bluetooth connection, the 240×320 pixel screen that views 262.000 colors, the 2 megapixel photocamera and the expandable memory through microSD cards.

    Pros:

    - Expandable memory
    - Supports both GSM and CDMA networks
    - Bluetooth

    Cons:

    - Only available in the US.

The Motorola A1600 MING 2 should be the next successor for the Motorola A1200 model. In fact, it keeps somewhat the same design, and the plastic flip that protects the touchpad screen. It’s a quadband GSM featuring a Linux Operational System, a Photocamera with 3.2 megapixels that has autofocus and flash, Wi-Fi connectivity, an integrated GPS, spoken dictionary and some pre-loaded games.

    Pros:

    - Operational System
    - Very slim phone
    - Wi-Fi connection
    - Good photocamera
    - Integrated GPS

    Cons:

    - It could have been an UMTS/GSM phone.

The Internet often offers many anticipations and insights, such as the first images of the new Motorola EM326g. It’s a slidephone that aims to the economic market range, with multimedia commands in the front part of the cellphone.

There are little information about the model so far. It’s known, however, that it features a 1.3 megapixel photocamera, bluetooth, a 3,5mm jack for the headphones and expandable memory through microSD cards. The model should be presented on the next Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcellona next February 15th. It should be available only for the American market at first.

The new Tundra VA76r, presented by Motorola at the CES 2009 being held in Las Vegas can be called the “toughphone”. The aspect of the new model is a little rough, but it’s justified by its sturdiness. Such a high one as that too, since it satisfied the severe American Military standards.

It’s a cellphone that is resistant to the rain, dust, vibrations and changes in temperature. But that’s not the only interesting feature on this model. The VA76r has, in fact, a multitasking Operational System that is able to manage more than one program at the same time, like it’s done on a computer. But that’s not only: its GPS system is one of the fastest and more precise currently on the market, while the conversation quality is guaranteed by Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology.

The rest of the specifications: it’s a 3G cellphone that has a battery duration of 5 hours when in conversation, a 2,2″ TFT display, bluetooth connection, 2 megapixel photocamera. A rather solid model, as it seems… so solid that even if you don’t like it, it’ll be hard for you to try and break it.
