It was a weekend slightly under the expectations for the Motorola Droid, the new Motorola smartphone featuring Android 2.0. From the 200.000 units shipped to stores, 100.000 units were sold during the first weekend with Verizon, which has the exclusivity for the device for now.
The numbers, when compared to the million iPhones sold in the first two days with AT&T seem a bit under the expectations, but there’s Apple’s name to fight against in that case. Motorola has declared that they intend to sell 1 million units by the end of 2009 and 10 million by the end of 2010.

The Motorola Droid, renamed Milestone for the European market, is still showing its features in many articles on the web. Today we bring you a video made by the guys from Pocketnow that compares the virtual and physical keyboards on the Droid with other models such as the HTC Imagio, the Touch Pro 2, the iPhone 3GS, the HTC Hero and the “old” HTC Tytn II.
The virtual keyboard seems to be rather good, as we can see on the video, but the physical one has the downside of having too many keys and remaning a bit uncomfortable. Anyway, we’ll leave you to the video now. Enjoy!
