Motorola seems to be trying to overcome the crysis with a few new models, among them, there’s the new Motorola Sholes, featuring Google’s OS, Android. The device has a QWERTY slide keyboard, and measures 115.8 x 60 x 13.70mm, weighing 169 grams. The 3.7″ display has the resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and views more than 16 million colors. The photocamera has the resolution of 5 megapixels and autofocus.
The device features an ARM Cortex A8 processor with 600Mhz and 256MB of RAM. The 512MB internal memory is expandable with microSDHC cards. Also included the Wi-Fi, GPS, multimedia player and bluetooth. The battery, according to the official data, guarantees 420 minutes in conversation or 450 hours in standby.

Anticipated a few days ago, the W7 model from Motorola is now official, with the name of Motorola W7 Active Edition. It’s a slidephone aimed for the sport lovers; in fact, it has a feature that counts the user’s steps and it’s connected to a Personal Trainer application, able to calculate the kilometers and calories. The device, similar to the accelerometer, can also be used to manage the music library through inclinations done on the device.
Other features are the 2.2″ display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels, a 2 Megapixel photocamera, UMTS connectivity, FM radio, 30MB internal memory, expandable through microSDHC cards and front camera for videocalls.
The device will be available from June on the Asian and Latin American markets.

After the i465 and the i9, Motorola launches a new model featuring the iDEN technology, the i856 Slider. Besides the iDEN technology, the i856 doesn’t show many new features, limiting itself to a 2.2″ display, 1.3 Megapixel photocamera, bluetooth, microSD support and push-to-talk.
The i856 is expected to be launched on the third quarter of 2009, although it’s not yet sure where it’ll be distributed and what price range it’ll have.
