Motorola i465 with iDEN technology
Motorola has announced that a new device capable of managing the iDEN protocol will soon be available on the American market. The name of the cellphone is i465. The device has a candybar design and a QWERTY keyboard. The technical specifications aren’t very advanced: there are rumors of a photocamera, but its biggest point is the iDEN technology.
iDEN stands for Integrated Digital Enhanced Network and it’s a new protocol created by Motorola that puts together radio waves and cellphone networks in order to better manage the phone calls. There’s no way to predict how successful it will be, since it will be necessary to convert the current structure to support it. The idea for its implementation is restricted to the USA for now.
